Formic Acid, also known as Methanoic Acid, CAS No. 64-18-6, is the simplest aliphatic carboxylic acid. It has dual chemical characteristics of carboxylic acid and aldehyde, with strong acidity, excellent reducibility and water solubility. Available in 85%, 90%, 94%, 99% purity (Industrial Grade, Feed Grade, High Purity Grade). It is a colorless fuming liquid with pungent odor, classified as Class 8.1 corrosive dangerous goods, UN1779. Widely used in leather tanning, textile dyeing, feed acidification & mildew prevention, organic synthesis, industrial descaling & cleaning, wastewater treatment, oilfield acidizing and rubber coagulation.
